Cornwall sits against the Hudson Highlands, and the terrain shows it. A lot of properties here have real grade change, shallow ledge rock closer to the slopes, and runoff that has to be managed deliberately, especially on the streets rising toward Storm King and through Firthcliffe.
That means two things come up constantly on Cornwall properties:
- Retaining walls that handle actual load, not decorative walls that lean within a few winters. Grade change here is frequently steep enough that the wall is doing structural work.
- Drainage and grading, because water moving downhill toward a foundation is a Cornwall problem more than a flat-lot problem. Several of our local customers found us after a wet basement turned out to be a grading issue outside.
